An $89 million project is planned for downtown Macon Georgia that would include a boutique hotel. MMI-Thornton LLC and Opterra Capital are planning the project, between First and Second, Poplar and Plum streets. The hotel will face Poplar Street and will contain 152 guestrooms. The development will also include a coffee shop, gym, restaurant, entertainment venues and 230 unit apartment complex. As part of the project the historic Newman Building will be renovated to connect the hotel with a pedestrian bridge. Naomi Mirsky is chief development officer of Opterra Capital.
